What is the advantage of the HEVC HD card over the H.264 HD card?
Both encode 1080p HD from HDMI. The HEVC card uses H.265 to deliver the same quality at roughly one-quarter the bitrate, so you can run more channels or reach more viewers on the same bandwidth. The H.264 card is the most universally compatible and the most affordable.
How many channels can I fit in one chassis with HD HEVC cards?
Up to 14 cards per chassis, so up to 14 independent HD channels. HEVC's low bitrate means even a full lineup fits comfortably on a gigabit network.
Can it output several streams simultaneously?
Yes — up to 4 simultaneous streams, each with its own compression (HEVC, H.264, or MJPEG), resolution, bitrate, and protocol.
Does it support SRT and multicast?
Yes. SRT ultra-low-latency is built in, along with RTMP(S), HLS, HTTP, RTSP, RTP, FLV, ONVIF, and UDP/RTP. IGMP v1/v2/v3 multicast reaches unlimited devices on a capable network.
Can I send this HD channel over coax?
Yes — add the INFINIUM 4K-over-coax module to the chassis and the HD channel is delivered over existing coax as a digital TV channel to any television.
What sources work with this card?
Any HDMI HD source — cameras, computers, media players, cable/satellite boxes, signage players, and switchers up to 1080p.
Does it require the INFINIUM chassis?
Yes. It installs in the INFINIUM 4K Video Distribution Chassis, which provides power, cooling, redundancy, and the network/RF backplane.
