What makes the 4K60 card different from the 4K30 card?
The 4K60 card is the flagship broadcast module: it adds a 12G-SDI input and HDMI 2.1 (48 Gbps), encodes real 4K at 60 fps in 4:4:4 with BT.2020 and HDR10 10-bit, and reaches mastering bitrates up to 100 Mbps. The 4K30 card uses HDMI 2.0b and encodes 4K at 30 fps — ideal when 60 fps and SDI are not required.
Does it accept both SDI and HDMI sources?
Yes. It has both a 12G-SDI BNC input and an HDMI 2.1 input (up to 48 Gbps), each supporting up to 4K@60 4:4:4 with embedded audio. You select which input to encode from in the web interface.
How many streams can it output at once?
Up to 2 simultaneous streams, each with its own compression (HEVC, H.264, or MJPEG), resolution, bitrate, and streaming protocol — so you can serve a high-bitrate master and a lighter mobile stream at the same time.
Is NDI supported?
NDI is available as an option (sold separately). The card natively supports SRT, RTMP(S), HLS, HTTP, RTSP, RTP, FLV, ONVIF, and UDP/RTP unicast and multicast out of the box.
Does it support multiple audio languages?
Yes — up to 4 stereo language pairs, encoded in AC3, AAC, MP2, MP3, or PCM, or passed through. Ideal for multilingual venues, broadcasters, and houses of worship.
Can I install it without shutting down the system?
Yes. Like every INFINIUM card it is 100% hot-swappable on a gold-plated, dust- and vibration-proof bus connector. Install or remove it on a live chassis without interrupting any other channel.
Does it require the INFINIUM chassis?
Yes. The 4K60 card is a module that installs in the INFINIUM 4K Video Distribution Chassis, which provides power, cooling, redundancy, and the network/RF backplane. Add the card to a chassis to create a broadcast 4K channel.
